Objective
The UISG leadership brought to CSI an idea for an application that would promote student engagement with the democratic process of proposing changes and additions to campus. CSI would implement, with UISG input, a web application which would facilitate communication between students and UISG on these issues.
Solution
CSI evaluated existing approaches to this idea used at different universities and determined that the best solution was designing a new application with the desired feature set. This allowed for easy integration with existing technologies on campus, opportunities for innovation, and hand-tailored user experience. The application needed to list petitions and allow voting, but it also needed to conform to a UISG workflow. This required the development of administrative functions. The product offers an intuitive user interface and robust backend features.
