Excelling@Iowa is a campus-wide student success platform used by staff & faculty to help students succeed at the University of Iowa. Based on the student's survey responses and institutional information, the system identifies students who may be struggling with the transition to the University of Iowa. The purpose of Excelling@Iowa is to provide staff and faculty with an actionable platform to help students succeed at the University.

Objective
Provide staff and faculty with an actionable platform to help students succeed at the University.
Solution
We began work on Excelling@Iowa in 2016, migrating away from a previously used 3rd-party application that had reached the limits of its utility for the University. Beginning from scratch, we developed a robust application that is now used broadly across multiple user groups on campus for outreach, retention, communications and much more.
